First 2 Awards of the 2019-20 Season!

Audax UK has a whole host of awards, aimed at all sorts of levels of participation meaning there are goals that everyone can go for, that suit all types of circumstance. As it’s my first season, I suppose it was inevitable that I was going to achieve other awards, on my journey to attempting the an SR series, RRtY and R5000. Completing the back to back DIY 200s last week, meant that I achieved my first 2 awards of this season; the Randonneur 1000 and the Brevet 1000. These came as a welcome surprise, and as I was just about to order a 300km distance badge for my frame bag, I thought I may as well pick up these respective badges as well!

Just as a side note. At the time of writing only 11 riders have completed the Randonneur 1000 so far this season, with over half of them having ridden the Moonrakers and Sunseekers event. Is there some sort of correlation here between doing stupid through the night rides in November and getting the km’s in early in the season?
