Feedback Sports Rakk Stand
I keep my bikes in the house and until fairly recently that has meant one in the hall way and one… where ever it was least in the way, which changed daily. To be honest both of them were pretty much constantly a pain in the arse. Fortunately my good lady came out with the idea of getting rid of the settee in the kitchen diner, which we did, leaving a very convenient space about the size of 2 bikes. To make it “even” tidier it was decided (haha) that stands should be bought so I wouldn’t wear a hole in the plaster. No idea where she got the idea from that that could even be a possibility… err..
I went for the Feedback Sports Rakk Bicycle Storage Stand from Wiggle for £36. I acknowledge this sounds a bit steep but actually the convenience has been worth every penny. I thought I may be able to get away with one to start but it was a bit annoying as I couldn’t attach it to the floor so it would slide around all the time when trying to get the bike in and out. I bought another one and it made a huge difference, as there are clips on the base that allow you to attach them together. The weight of the bike in the other stand keeps the empty one from moving about. The wheel slots into a gap in the base while the spring loaded arm gives you a third point of contact that “grips” the wheel. The bikes are very solid in the stand and are easy to get in and out. Where ever you keep your bike if you only learn it against something I can highly recommend getting a stand.
